Call Barring

Outgoing Call Barring (OCB)

Outgoing Call Barring on the line allows you to bar a range of outgoing calls based on the selection of a code (see below). A PIN number is provided for security purposes

Instructions for use

Outgoing Call Barring is set up using a touch tone phone by pressing the key pad sequences outlined below:

  • Barring outgoing calls * 3 4 code #
  • Cancelling # 3 4 code * PIN #
  • Checking * # 3 4 #

The codes and functionality are as follows:

  • 1) Bars almost all calls including 1571, cancelling this option automatically cancels any other barring options.
  • 2) Bars national and international calls and calls to mobiles
  • 3) Bars international calls.
  • 4) Bars all operator-connected calls and SMS calls
  • 5) Bars calls to numbers with * or # in them, this will include some Wholesale Calling & Network Features but does not bar Call Barring.
  • 6) Not currently used
  • 7) Bars all Premium Rate calls

Incoming Call Barring (ICB)

Incoming Call Barring allows you to bar all incoming calls.

Instructions for use

Incoming Call barring is set up using a touch tone phone by pressing the key pad sequences outlined below:

  • Barring incoming calls * 2 6 1 #
  • Cancelling # 2 6 1 #
  • Checking * # 2 6 1 #

Call Diversion

Call Diversion enables you to have all calls diverted to another number - anywhere in the UK, most overseas destinations or a mobile phone. You can choose to - divert all calls, divert on no reply or divert when the line is busy

A message is given to the caller when diverting on 'no reply' is activated on occasions when the diverted to number returns an engaged tone. Up to 8 calls can be diverted simultaneously.


Instructions for use


  • Diverting Calls (switch on) * Code * Phone number to divert to #

Diversion Codes:


  • 21 (all calls)
  • 61 (diverts calls you don't answer, calls will divert after 15 seconds)
  • 67 (diverts calls when you are engaged)

Call Waiting

With Call Waiting, a gentle beep alerts you that another call is coming in. You then have the option to end your original call and take the new call, swap between both calls, or continue with your current call.

Instructions for use

Switching on:

  • Dial * 4 3 #

Taking a call and switching between calls:

  • To take a second call and, or switch between calls, press RECALL, when the call has finished, just hang up.
  • The command for switching between calls differs, to speak to the second caller press RECALL Then 2, to return to the first caller press RECALL then 1. (The telephone should have a recall button or similar)
  • When the call has finished just hang up.

Switching off:

  • Dial # 4 3 #

Checking:

  • *# 4 3 #
Reminder Call

Reminder Call is available for 10p per use (or free with Anytime Plus Call Package).

Allows you to set your phone for an Alarm Call using the 24-hour clock

One Off Reminder

Instructions for use
Setting a call:

  • Dial * 5 5 * 24 hr clock # (Use 24 hour clock)
Cancelling:
  • Dial # 5 5 #
Checking:
  • Dial * # 5 5 #

Recurring Reminders

Instructions for use
Setting a call:

  • Dial * 5 6 * 24 hr clock * Repeat Code #
Cancelling:
  • Dial # 5 6 #
Checking:
  • Dial * # 5 6 #

Repeat Codes: Mon (1), Tue (2), Wed (3), Thur (4), Fri (5), Sat (6), Sun (7), every weekday (8), daily (9)

3 Way Calling

The service allows you to speak to two other people at the same time even if one of them is abroad. You can include or exclude either party at any time during the call.

3 Way Calling is included in our 'Anytime Plus' calling package and also available for 10p per use.
As well as the usage fee you will be billed for the cost of both calls.

Instructions for use

Setting up:

  • Dial first number and wait to be connected
  • * RECALL
  • Wait for tone then dial second number and wait to be connected
  • * RECALL 3
  • To talk to two callers separately, press 2 instead of 3 when the second call answers. If you want to switch between the two callers, press RECALL, wait for the dial tone, then press 2

Ending the call:

  • Hang up

Ending the first call only:

  • RECALL
  • Wait for dial tone
  • Dial 5

Ending the second call only:

  • RECALL
  • Wait for dial tone 7

Smart Divert

Smart Divert enables you to have all calls diverted to another number - anywhere in the UK, most overseas destinations or a mobile phone. You can choose to - divert all calls, divert on no reply or divert when the line is busy. You will be provided with an access number and pin to enable your to use Smart Divert remotely.

Available free on request with our Business Premium Line Rental and for £2.50 per month (ex vat) on Standard Line Rental
As well as the monthly service charge you will also be billed for the cost of the diverted call leg.

Instructions for use when using a remote phone line


  • Switch On
    Dial the access number and wait for the tone.
    Press * and enter the Remote Divert Code
    Press * and enter your pin
    Press * and enter your full phone number
    Press * and enter the phone number you wish to divert calls to
    Press #
  • Switch Off
    Dial the access number and wait for the tone.
    Press # and enter the Remote Divert Code
    Press * and enter your pin
    Press * and enter your full phone number
    Press #
  • Checking
    Dial the access number and wait for the tone.
    Press # whilst holding down *
    Enter the remote divert code and press *
    Enter your pin and press * Enter your full phone number
    Press #

Remote Divert Codes:

  • 44 (all calls)
  • 64 (diverts calls you don't answer, calls will divert after 15 seconds)
  • 65 (diverts calls when you are engaged)

Call Minder - Voicemail

Instructions For Use

Accessing from your phone:

After dialling 1571 you will be advised that you have x new messages and y saved messages.
In the main menu the End User will be able to press:

  • 1 to listen to messages
  • 2 for personnel options (Number of rings before answering, Record your personalised greeting message, Change PIN)
  • 4 for missed calls
  • 6 setup sms alerting

After reviewing any messages the End User will be able to press:
  • 0 to return the call
  • 1 to listen again
  • 2 to save or skip
  • 3 to delete a message

Accessing from another phone:

Dial your own phone number. On hearing the Call Minder greeting press * and when prompted enter your PIN number.


Setting up text alert feature

This feature allows you to receive a text message whenever a new message is left on your land line. You can then call in to your land line number to listen to the message using the linked mobile phone.
  • 1. From the home phone number, dial 1571
  • 2. To link your mobile number, press 6
  • 3. Enter the mobile number that you want to link to your messaging service, followed by #
  • 4. Press 1 - To link this mobile to your messaging service or, Press 2 to enter a different mobile number

Once finished, the you will receive a text message on your mobile telephone to confirm that the work is complete.
 
To change or unlink the customer mobile from the mailbox
  • 1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from above
  • 2. After pressing 6, you will be told 'The mobile number linked to this line is ?..'
  • 3. To change it, press 2, or to unlink this mobile from your mailbox, press 3 Again, a text message will be sent to your mobile to confirm that the work is complete.
Choose To Refuse

Choose to Refuse enables you to choose who gets through helping you put a stop to nuisance or unwanted calls. You can block up to 10 numbers.

Instructions for use

To bar the last call you answered:

  • Dial 14258.
  • Press * twice to confirm barring of last number.

To bar other numbers at any time:

  • Dial 14258.
  • Enter PIN.
  • Choose to Refuse asks you to select one of the following:

    Make sure you include the area STD code before UK numbers, press '*' at the end of the number to tell Choose To Refuse that it is the end of the number.

  • Review the barred number list

    You can check your list at any time. Choose To Refuse will tell you the number and the date that it was barred. Also choose this option if you want to delete a number from your list.

  • Change the PIN number

    Some obvious PINs such as 5678 and 2222, or PINs that use numbers in obvious patterns on your dialing keypad such as 2580 are not allowed.
